An IHOP employee is mortified after finding out she turned away comedic legend Adam Sandler from the restaurant recently.
That IHOP employee is TikTok user Dayanna Rodas, who posted a video that has since gone viral featuring security footage from the restaurant she works at showing her breaking the news to Sandler that there was a 30-minute wait to be seated.
Sandler entered the restaurant with one of his daughters but left because that was too long of a wait, according to the post.
Rodas revealed to her followers that she was exceptionally embarrassed by the fact that she had no idea she was talking to Adam Sandler.
“Not realizing its Adam Sandler and telling him its a 30min wait and him ofc leaving bc hes not going to wait 30mins for IHOP,” she wrote on the video, which featured herself with a clown filter paired with clown music.
Since the video went viral, many people have pointed out that it was an easy mistake to make, given that Sandler was dressed very casually, making it hard to tell him apart from the Average Joe. The Uncut Gems actor is notorious for sporting baggy hoodies and basketball shorts in public and on top of that, he was wearing his mask inside the restaurant during his interaction with Rodas.
Still, Rodas is hoping to get a second chance at seating the actor in the future. She captioned the video,”Pleaseee come back.”
TikTokAccording to Huffpost, Sandler’s publicist confirmed that the Saturday Night Live alum was indeed the man seen in the TikTok video posted by Rodas
Although Sandler’s reaction to not getting seated in a timely manner was obviously disappointed in the video, but many fans commented on the TikTok praising the comedian for not giving the staff member a hard time or flexing his celebrity status in order to get preferential treatment.
One user wrote: “At least he didn’t use his fame to rush anything he left like a normal person would.”
